Kingdom Rooms was born from over 40 years of home improvement experience. Andy & Mandy Young built a large conservatory and window business they sold in 2018. Inspired by buildings seen in rural Canada they sought to avoid the damp, rot and moisture issues associated with many buildings. Extensive research and the use of modern materials resulted in these super insulated, low maintenance and long lasting beautiful buildings.
Andy has developed a unique 3D design and pricing software that has proved a visual hit with customers. They also created display buildings, a sensory and learning experience, showing how they weather and perform. Combined with a detailed quotation, customers know exactly what to expect should you decide to proceed. These buildings are unique as they are used by us, so you will understand how we retain valuable heat in winter and reject it in summer. Using our own buildings avoids expensive show sites, delivering lower costs for customers.
Customer service and great communication are key to consistent 5 Star Google Reviews. A reward from years of learning customer needs, community fundraising and community event organising that previously resulted in Prestigious Retail Awards, a Pride of Reading Award and a Melvin Jones International Humanitarian Award. It’s our view that we support the community that supports us.
Whilst Andy leads the designs, quoting and build tech, Mandy has a great flair for interior design. Her inspiration is widely appreciated and it’s always a buzz to see customer designs including a nod to our building interiors, colours and finishes.
Mandy also heads the admin team.
At Christmas we turn one building into a Santa’s grotto and donate proceeds to charity from ticket sales. It’s proved to be a childrens highlight and we love the atmosphere and excitment generated from the day. Lots of appreciative parents too.
We strive to reduce waste and recycle materials for a low carbon build. Unused materials are donated for garden furniture pieces and a charity bird box kit project for local children. Other materials are also recycled. We also initiated two national recycling schemes with manufacturers.
Kingdom Rooms were selected as finalists as UK Small Business of the Year in the 2025 Lloyds Bank Business Excellence Awards. Quite an accolade for a small Berkshire business and a proud moment recognising the whole team’s ongoing efforts.
Prince, their MGB joins Mandy and Andy on days off and had to be a British Classic to compliment their Made in Britain buildings accreditation.
